Charar-e-Sharief

The town of Charar-e-Sharief grew around the tomb of Nund Rishi and became one of the most important pilgrimage places in the Valley. The shrine's wooden buildings were destroyed by fire in May 1995 during a prolonged armed standoff in the town, and the shrine has since been rebuilt.
